More than 200 speed limits across Waipā district will be lowered by early November in an effort to reduce the number of crashes and fatalities on local roads.
A Council committee has recommended that lower speed limits on roads across Waipā district be adopted at the next council meeting later this month.
More than 84 per cent of people who weighed in on the recent speed limits bylaw agree it is time to slow our speed.
Waipa people have largely backed a proposal from Waipa District Council to slow down traffic in parts of the district.

Council’s goal is to reduce the risk of
death and serious injury on our roads each year and to do this we need to have
better conversations with our communities.
